A hijacked Saudi-owned supertanker carrying more than $100 million worth of crude oil is believed to have anchored off Somalia and its owners are working toward "the safe and speedy return" of the 25 crew, the owners said Tuesday.
This may be a really dumb thing to say, but what I don't understand is how pirates take these ships. I know the pirates have speed boats and weapons, but do the crew members of ships like these not have weapons? Shouldn't they be prepared when they know they are entering waters "protected" by pirates? Do they not see them coming? Are they just outnumbered?
