In the tale of woe that was Heathrow Airport's disastrous terminal opening earlier this year, Naomi Campbell provided a cautionary subplot.
Amid thousands of travelers that were stranded at the crucial hub, searching for missing luggage or both, the supermodel managed to get arrested for an outburst of unknown proportions until today.
Campbell accused the officers of being racist and continued to shout abuse as she was taken from the aircraft, prosecutors said. She kicked the side of a police van brought to take her away and abused a woman officer who searched her.
"You can't arrest me. I want my luggage,'' the CPS cited her as saying. "It's just because I'm black and famous.''
She pleaded guilty today to four charges, while two others were dropped. To settle her debt to society, the judge ordered the Ms. Campbell to perform 200 hours of community service — far more than her 5-day stint with the New York City Sanitation Department in 2007.
